HOW TO INSTALL VP AND/OR MAPSEND
ON YOUR VISTA COMPUTER.
We have tested on the Vista Operating System.
Choose the program you wish to install .. i.e., in the case of Vantage Point .. MVP141.exe or whatever program is current. If you do not have a copy of the current program go to: www.magellangps.com and get a copy.
Save this program to your computer c:\drive.
When installing the program you will have to be logged into your computer as the Adminstrator.
Now you must set your program to "Run as the Administrator". In order to do this if you are running VISTA your UAC MUST BE ON and for XP you must be logged in as the "Administrator". Obviously you must be granted the ability to have your account have Administrator privileges.
If you do not do this you will get Vista either telling you that the program has expired or the program will appear to install properly BUT NOT RUN CORRECTLY.
To Repeat, YOU MUST RUN THE PROGRAM AS THE "ADMINISTRATOR" OR IT WILL NOT INSTALL PROPERLY. ALSO PLEASE GRANT ALL REQUESTS FOR INTERNET ACCESS AS THE PROGRAM ASKS.
Please follow these steps below to ensure that your program will install correctly on Windows Vista. Never reset your Vista or XP Computer to a "Restore Point" that was prior to the installation date and time of your Job Spider installation. Doing so, will mean that the computer registers will be restored to a period PRIOR TO YOUR CORRECT INSTALLATION. STEP 1 Place your cursor over the Program and Right click on icon on your desktop and select Properties. STEP 2 Click the Compatibility tab. Next, on the Privilege Level section, select Run this program as an administrator as shown below. Click Apply and click OK to close the property window.
STEP 3: Now Double click on the Unidenified Publisher ICON which should be MVP_141 or the most recent Vantage Point Software or the SETUP.EXE of Mapsend icon. A User Account Control popup will appear as shown below, click Allow to allow the program to run. Please note that the program name in the view below will change to the program you are installing. After following these steps your program will install correctly on Windows Vista.Technical Support Group Copyright 2006-2008, Gelb
