Thank you for your order.  We are happy to be able to serve you.  Below are the procedures for both a USA and Worldwide repair and return.  We Offer Repair Service in North America, South America, Europe and many other countries.

This letter addresses a broken LCD display ONLY.

We also offer a High Impact Plexiglass Protective Cover Lens Kit. 

A cracked and scratched Plexiglass Protective Lens is a different problem and one that you can repair yourself with the correct part that we sell. (Sorry but we do not repair the Plexiglass Lens, we only supply the part for you to repair it.)  The Kit consists of our High Impact Replacement Plexiglass Protective Lens Cover Sheet.   The repair of the protective lens cover is a very simple repair and we will send you instructions on how to repair your lens cover.  If you also wish to order this kit please visit http://www.jungleghost.com/repair_service_plexiglass_display.shtml

Procedure for Returning GPS Units from USA For LCD Repair.

NOTICE:  ONLY ship to us your defective GPS.  Our Repair Service includes all the items that we need to return to you a "Plug and Play" Repaired Unit.

OUR REPAIR SERVICE WILL INCLUDE

-- Replacing your broken LCD screen display. 
---Upgrading to the latest firmware as part of our service procedure.

1) Please make sure that you ONLY return the GPS and the SD or SDHC card installed in your GPS for repair.  We do not need any accessories. We suggest that you package each unit in plastic wrap and use US Post Office Priority Mail and a Delivery Confirmation.  The SMALL FLAT RATE BOX works well AND PLEASE SEND US AN EMAIL THAT YOU HAVE SHIPPED YOUR GPS TO US SO THAT WE CAN EXPECT IT.

PLEASE DO NOT SHIP BY FEDEX .. WE ARE EXPERIENCING TOO MANY PROBLEMS WITH DELIVERIES.

2) Please ship your unit to us WITHOUT any batteries installed.

3) Please transfer your routes, waypoints, geocaches, and trails to VantagePoint as we cannot guarantee that we can preserve this data.  We will try but we cannot guarantee that this data will be deleted.

4) Please ship your unit to:

Procedure for Returning GPS Units from Outside the USA For Repair

Please remember that this letter addresses a broken LCD display ONLY.   If you need repair work other than this you should be visiting our other repair service at http://www.jungleghost.com/repair_service.shtml

Also please note that we can repair your broken screen and upgrade your firmware but we do not replace the protective plastic cover for the LCD.  You must repair this yourself.

 Procedure for Returning GPS Units from the USA to Your Country.

1) Please make sure that you ONLY return the GPS for repair.  We do not need any accessories.

2) Please ship your unit to us WITHOUT any batteries installed. 

3) Please transfer your routes, waypoints, geocaches, and trails to VantagePoint as we cannot guarantee that we can preserve this data.  We will try but we cannot guarantee that this data will be deleted.

5) Remember to have your Country Post Office sets the value of your product to an amount that will clear your customs on the return of the repaired unit.  At this time, since the unit is basically a "brick" some of our customers set the Insurance Value at $10.00 USD and state on the Post Office Duty sheet that the "Unit this GPS is send for Repair and is not operational".   We suggest that you send your package by FIRST CLASS MAIL and a Delivery Cenfirmation.

We will remove the duty slip from the outside of your shipment and inform the Postal Authorities that the GPS is owned by you and has been repaired and set the return value at $35.00 USD. 

This way you MAY BE CHARGED a handling fee by YOUR POST OFFICE.   In most cases, the return costs for duty and postal fees will be ZERO.

6) We recommend that you wrap your GPS in bubble wrap and keep the total weight of the package under 1 LB. (454.4 Grams)

7) Your GPS will be returned to you by First Class International MailĀ® - REGISTERED and the value declared will be same as value as your EXPORT value.  Please declare the value of your GPS as a USED unit and not a BRAND NEW unit.
